Grenada - Where to go
There are historical museums in both Grenada and Carriacou and other places of interest including Plantation "Great" houses which have been refurbished and are operated today as restaurants and inns. The following is list of a few places of interest in Grenada:
Grand Etang Lake, St. Andrew, Grenada:
Located in the Grand Etang Forest Reserve, the Grand Etang Lake is a natural waterfilled crater of one of Grenada'a extinct volcanos. The rainforest around the lake holds a stupendously rich diversity of flora and fauna. Colourful tropical birds, tiny frogs and lizards, and rare orchids punctuate the dense rainforest vegetation, and the trails meander around the area's stunning waterfalls as wellas the azure waters of Grand Etang Lake.

Lake Antoine, St. Patrick, Grenada:
This shallow crater lake, like Grand Etang, is host to a wide variety of wildlife. The lake's perimeter trail, a beautiful walk in itself, is another of Grenada's excellent attractions for birdwatchers. Among the species frequently sighted are the snail kite, the fulvous whistling duck, large billed seed-finch, gray kingbird and limpkin.

Anglican Rectory Garden, Sea View, Carriacou:
Formerly an old Beausejour Great House, this site has a lot of history and an amazing variety of cactus.
Bay Gardens, St. George, Grenada:
Situated on the woodland slope on the site of an old sugar mill, Bay Gardens features palms, tropical American trees, decorative ornamentals and foliage plants. Open daily 7 am to 6 pm.
Carriacou Botanical Gardens, Hillsborough, Carriacou:
The Botanical Gardens has displays of tropical plants, flowers and trees.
Grenada Golf & Country Club, St. George, Grenada:
The Grenada Golf and Country Club is a 9-hole course located near Grand Anse, and is open to visitors. Equipment rentals and caddies are available.
Grenada National Museum, St. George, Grenada:
Set in the foundations of an old armny barracks and prisons built in 1704, this small but interesting museum just off Young Street offers a fine collection of objects and artefacts of the island's history and culture.
Gun Point, Petit Carenage Bay, Carriacou:
On the northern tip of the island, Gun Point is named after the cannon erected by the British in the 1780 's. That cannon still graces the landscape.
The Carriacou Museum, Carriacou:
The Carriacou Museum in Paterson Street, managed by the Carriacou Historical Society has Amerindian artefacts as well as exhibits tracing the early British and French occupation of the islands. It also has an African section. The museum is housed in a restored cotton gin mill.
River Sallee Boiling Springs, St. Patrick, Grenada:
Located in the north east of the island, the boiling springs are noted not only for their unique geology but also because it is an area of spiritual importance for the local residents. Visitors are inspired to throw coins into the fountain while they make a wish.
